A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN FIELD ORIENTED CONTROL STRATEGY AND SLIDING MODE CONTROL STRATEGY FOR DFIG INTEGRATED IN WIND ENERGY SYSTEM

Abstract
This paper presents a modeling and sliding mode control of a doubly fed induction machine (DFIM) integrated in wind energy system for independent control of active and reactive power. For a comparative study, the independent control of active and reactive power is ensured in the first step by conventional controllers (PI) and the second step by sliding mode controllers (SMC). Finally, the performance of the system are tested and compared by simulation in terms of reference tracking, and robustness based on software MATLAB / SIMULINK.
