Robust STATCOM Control Design Using P-Q theory for Wind Driven Induction Generator

Abstract
This article proposes a unified and robust control for Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) for a wind driven self-excited induction generator. The criterion of the control was extracted from instantaneous P-Q theory. The proposed control has the merits of simplicity and reliability . An analytical expression was advised for dimensioning the DC-link capacitor. Comprehensive simulation results in Matlab environment were illustrated for corroborating the performance of the advised control under rigorous operating scenarios.
